The Marantz MER803 keeps your total home entertainment both compact and high quality.

At first sight, the Melody Movie MER803 looks like other Marantz mini systems. This is no bad thing when you consider how highly rated systems such as the MCR502 and MCR603 are. Where rivals offer around 20 - 30 watts of power the Marantz more than doubles this with a power output of 70 watts (6 ohms). This gives it far greater punch and depth of bass than many of its rivals. Added to this, the digital amplification comes with a Pure Direct mode for the ultimate in detail and resolution.

Where the MER803 differs from the norm is in providing a top quality Blu-ray player instead of the more usual CD. This brings a whole new element of entertainment to this Marantz Mini Hi-Fi. Combined with the HDMI socket, there is now the opportunity for top quality vision as well as sound. As you'd expect from a Marantz Blu-ray player, the picture quality is super-precise with intense realism and detail. The Melody Movie MER803 will also play DVDs to a very high standard; upscaled to 1080p resolution for near HD quality. As Marantz make some of the best CD players, it comes as little surprise to find the MER803 also sounds great with CDs. Furthermore, it will also play MP3 and WMA music files.

In addition to the Blu-ray player, there's also a high quality FM/AM radio with RDS and 40 presets. Coupled with this great range of sources is a front-mounted USB socket that's perfect for plugging in your iPhone, iPod, MP3 player or other digital media device. A second USB socket at the rear provides support for BD-Live storage.

It's not just in sound quality and features where the Marantz tramples it competitors, but in terms of looks, too. The smoothly contoured case is perfectly set off by the gloss black lid. To keep the styling clean, there's also a front flap to cover minor controls. Thanks to intuitively grouped controls, such style doesn't come at the expense of ease of use, either.

For quality Blu-ray sound and vision in one stylish case, the Marantz MER803 is your one-stop shop.
