It might be slim but the Marantz NR1602 offers everything you'd expect from a full size AVR, including a 7.1 output, networking and Apple AirPlay compatibility.

AT LAST, A FULLY EQUIPPED AV RECEIVER THAT'S NOT BULKY!

Without compromising on audio or video quality the NR1602 is far less dominating than most AV receivers. With a height of just 105mm, it is around fifty percent lower in profile than even its slimmest competitors and nearly half the height of some of the more portly models.

UNCOMPROMISED HOME CINEMA

It might be compact but in terms of home cinema functionality, the NR1602 has all the latest features. A raft of Audyssey processors includes EQ for HD audio formats, Dynamic Volume to reduce the level of commercials and Dynamic EQ. A full 7.1 output lets you enjoy surround sound with added realism from a second set of high-mounted front speakers. Working in conjunction with this ideal speaker set-up you'll find Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoders offering full HD audio reproduction to match HD vision. The results are accurate surround sound with amazingly pin sharp imaging and a truly enveloping sound quality. Also included is Dolby ProLogic IIz. This makes the most of the 7.1 channels by offering a more enveloping sound with TV than ever before.

FULL NETWORKING PLUS APPLE'S AIRPLAY

Coming with an Ethernet socket, this is the first NR1600 model to be network ready. Simply connect to your home network using an Ethernet connection and you can access thousands of Internet radio sites as well as subscription services such as last.fm and Napster. Additionally, you can stream music via DLNA from other sources such as your laptop or NAS drive. This is also the first slim-line Marantz AVR to be compatible with Apple's AirPlay wireless music system. Simply download the necessary App and stream your iTunes music library from your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad to the Marantz. With other AirPlay products available, this could also make the start of a cost effective multi-room system.

COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF SOCKETS

The NR1602 also makes few, if any, compromises when it comes to socketry. The Four HDMI inputs are the latest version that supports 3D video and audio return. Furthermore, a video convertor lets you upconvert analogue inputs to HDMI output. A full range of component, composite, phono and digital audio connections make the NR1602 every bit as flexible as its full-size rivals.

PERFECT FOR YOUR PORTABLE

The Marantz NR1602 also comes with MDAX2 compressed audio restorer. As the name suggests, this enhances the sound from MP3 sources and provides near CD quality from your MP3 or iPod recordings. Working in combination with this is a front-mounted USB socket. Connect up your iPod, iPhone or other digital media device and you can enjoy a high quality, digital connection.

For all of the functionality and little of the bulk, the Marantz NR1602 provides a winning combination.
