What Hi-Fi liked the Yamaha YSP2200 soundbar so much that one of their team went out and bought one; better praise is hard to find amongst the oft jaded reviewers! It's fair to say then, that the Yamaha YSP2200 is a pretty special system but, considering that Yamaha was first to bring the technology to a mass market, this comes as little surprise.

Like other YSP soundbar systems, the Yamaha YSP-2200 offers the illusion of speakers all around without the associated boxes and wires. In essence, the Yamaha bounces sound off the walls, from just two sources (including the subwoofer) to give a room filling sound that could easily convince you in to thinking there're many more speakers in the room. At the heart of this Yamaha soundbar are no fewer than 18 separate digital power amplifiers, driving 16 'sound beam' drivers and two bass units, located in a separate subwoofer. IntelliBeam ensures optimum multi-channel set-up by constant and precise monitoring and analysis of sound output via the supplied plug in microphone. A wide choice of beam settings let you tailor the sound to your exact requirements including whether you're listening to stereo music or film in surround sound. Thanks to the separate subwoofer, this soundbar also has real clout! Twin drive units power the bass along with real conviction - just like at the cinema. As What Hi-Fi magazine went on to observe, the resulting sound quality is pretty special: "With Inception's majestically powerful score, the Yamaha shines, retaining full control over dynamics, avoiding high frequency brittleness and, when necessary, powering out the bass with genuine enthusiasm."

Yet the real beauty of the YSP-2200 is just how simple it all is to set up. Simply connect your sources by HDMI, wire up the sub, use the automatic set-up and you're ready to go. Because the bass drivers are located in a separate unit, the main soundbar can be very thin. At just 9cm in height, its profile is low enough for the soundbar to be placed in front of TVs without obstructing the picture. A further neat touch is the infra-red repeater that forwards remote control commands, should the soundbar block the sensor. If all this wasn't enough, the YSP-2200 is compatible with the Panasonic VIERA system, allowing you to control the basics of the soundbar with your TV's remote. The subwoofer is versatile, too. Place it vertically or horizontally, the unit is slim enough to fit the tightest of spaces.

If it's a non-intrusive soundbar solution you're looking for then, clearly, there's little better than the Yamaha YSP-2200. As What Hi-Fi concluded, "The YSP-2200 is the best Digital Sound Projector yet. A great home solution."

DELIVERY INFORMATION

All orders are shipped via our friends at DPD, except high value desirable items such as plasma and LCD TVs over 37 inches, which are sent fully insured with a specialist carrier.

If this is your first order with us, please ensure that the only address you enter is the credit card billing address, as this is the only address to which we can deliver. If you have previously placed an order on our website, you will be offered an alternative delivery address if your order value is
less than £500. Also, ensure you only click the submit order button once, as it will take a minute or so to process.

Delivery occurs within 6 working days (unless ordered on a 1-3 working days service). If after this time you have still to take receipt of your order email webaftersales@richersounds.com providing your order number, name, address, and brief details of what you ordered. We strive to answer all queries within a working day, although at busy times we do ask that you bear with us. Please submit your query only once, as repeated emails/telephone calls only serves to slow down our response time and can result in further delays to your order.

All deliveries must be signed for. They will NOT be left in garages, sheds, outside loos, porches etc. You must examine the goods before signing for them to ensure they are in good condition - if packaging is damaged please do not accept goods. Instead notify us as soon as possible. If there is no-one in to sign for the goods, they will be taken back to the courier depot and a card left.

If we are out of stock of an item or there is a problem, we will contact you as soon as is possible.

DELIVERY TRACKING

Once you have placed an order and the order has been dispatched, you will receive an e-mail (usually the day before delivery) from DPD containing your tracking information. Please note that this does not apply to plasma screens or accessories such as remote controls, cables, leads etc.
